(Courtesy Cleveland State Media Relations) INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – After being selected as Cleveland State's nominee for NCAA Woman of the Year earlier this summer, volleyball standout and recent graduate Grace Kauth has been named the Horizon League nominee for the same award.

Kauth, a four-year starter for the Vikings, is one of 58 Division I conference nominees for the NCAA Woman of the Year award, which encompasses the four pillars of Academics, Athletics, Service and Leadership.

Along with Kauth, UIC's Elaine Heflin (softball) and Detroit Mercy's Sarah Thompson (golf) were also nominated by their respective institutions for the NCAA Woman of the Year award.

During Kauth's career she earned multiple accolades from the Horizon League, culminating with Player of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year honors following her senior campaign. Kauth was also a four-time All-League selection, earning All-League First Team honors as a sophomore, junior and senior and All-Freshman Team honors as a rookie.

As a two-year team captain, Kauth led the Vikings to a pair of Horizon League Regular Season titles during 2015 and 2016, while also guiding Cleveland State to a pair of Horizon League Tournament championships during the same years.

Under Kauth's leadership, Cleveland State became just the third Horizon League team to win back-to-back tournament crowns over the last 20 years.
